Salvafix is part of a medical treatment and as such, it is mandatory to follow safety rules. See safety regulations related to restraint systems set in your workplace. In addition, to ensure no adverse use of Salvafix and avoid risks to patient safety, you should print, read and follow the safety recommendations indicated in this document.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it really necessary to use the lateral bands and the perineal band?

Yes, of course. Lateral bands and perineal band are key security elements. Lateral bands prevent the patient can rotate on its axis and the perineal band prevents the patient to slide down, which would be a significant risk of death by suffocation.

What side of the bed I should fix Salvafix elements?

Must be fixed to the frame of the bed. If the bed is articulated, should be fixed on the moving parts.

Can it be be sterilized?

Yes, you can use some methods of sterilization. See section 5.2 of the Safety Recommendations Book for more information.

Is Salvafix fireproof?

No, Salvafix isn't fireproof. However, the Flame Retardant (FR) range contains fibers with non-flamability effect, to avoid fire spread, allowing them to self-extinct.

Can be wet the locking systems?

Locking systems included as standard in the Salvafix equipment should not get wet, because its functioning may be altered. However, you can use mechanical locking system (SVF3520) that do allow proper operation in wet conditions.

Can I use in a newly acquired Salvafix equipment other locking systems than those included in the package?

No. To ensure the safety and proper functioning of a Salvafix equipment it should always be used in conjunction with locking systems that are included in the package.

Can I apply Salvafix on a patient if I have not had specific training on their use?

No. Salvafix should only be used by properly trained personnel. Place without proper preparation jeopardize the patient's health and your own. If you have not received adequate preparation Ask for it in your workplace.
